Where has this year gone?? Flip me it has certainly whizzed by but still I have had a lot of adventures both here in good olโ Blighty ๐ฌ๐ง and abroad. Its my annual photo round up of the wonderful places I got to visit.
So this year I made a commitment to do a lot more exploring on my doorstep here in the UK and I can say I was rather successful in seeing what the UK had to offer me with a total of 13 places explored! When it comes to travel we can be so carried away with needing to ‘see the world’ without seeing our very own ‘world’ a.k.a. our own country. I know the UK does not lend itself to being the best weather wise but we sure do have some beauties over here (Snowdonia being a personal favourite of mine). So where did I go a-visiting this year?
UK Adventures
Stratford upon Avon – my first adventure of the year was to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace! I also got to visit the butterfly farm and learn all about their growth patterns.
Beautiful walks were had along the River Avon
Blakeney Point, Norfolk – this is such a hidden gem! Who knew you could go seal watching in the UK? I hung with seals and walked on beaches #happytimes

Dover, Kent – the white brilliance of these cliffs lead someone to ask on our trip out here if they were painted that way. (My answer? Yes by the artist God). My photos don’t do this place justice.
Snowdon, Wales – this now is one of my favourite places in the UK. Its just breathtakingly beautiful! And I made it to the summit of Mount Snowdon woop woop!

Epping Forest, London – it really shouldn’t have taken me this long to have another wander through this forest!
Newcastle upon Tyne – I went home up north to do the Colour Obstacle Fun Run and to catch up with old lovable friends. I also was able to reminisce about the greatness of the city including going over the iconic Tyne Bridge.
Maldon Quay, Essex – if you saw my IG I was literally driving after work saw one of those point of interest signs and on the spot decided to have a microadventure. Glad I did as I would have missed this glorious sunset.
Sandbanks Beach, Poole, Dorset – someone asked me when I posted this beach if I was in the UK. Britain has beautiful beaches and when the weather is right its a huge bonus.
Old Harry Rocks, Dorset – I saw this in the far off distance from Sandbanks beach and thus I said ‘I wanna see it close up.’ So I did!
Durdle Door, Dorset – an iconic feature of the Jurassic Coast in this region
Lulworth Cove, Dorset – so lovely to gaze upon this beautiful cove during my summer staycation in Dorset.

New Forest, Hampshire – I made friends with the native horses and enjoyed the walk in this forest despite the rain.
Cliveden, Buckinghamshire – a place that made me fall in love with the season of autumn for its colours.
Adventures abroad
My adventures abroad were quite wide ranging from short Euro city breaks, typical of a Londoner to exploring the motherland, Nigeria. I also had my first solo adventure to Romania – hiking, biking and caving which was so much fun!
Copenhagen, Denmark – the final ‘hurrah’ #SibsonTour trip with my brother (as he got married this year). From the places of ‘anarchy’ to the usual iconic places of interest.

Lagos, Akure, Abuja & Jos in Nigeria – check out my roadtripping across Nigeria post for my visuals of my trip to the motherland but I thought I’d share a pic of me and my bro in traditional Yoruba attire.
Ibiza, Spain – when you have low expectations about a place and then it delivers fun water exploring activities and one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – The Dam is a beaut! Check it out!
Rosia & the Apuseni Mountains, Romania – this region needs more attention! Its stunning and untouched. This trip was unplanned and it was my first solo adventure with a tour group.
Tell me where you went this year both in the UK and abroad and perhaps you can inspire my 2018 adventures.
Happy New Year guys!
