Tayo - the5to9traveller

‘𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲...

And hardly anyone knows about it Tayo.’

This was what my Mum said to me after she tuned into hearing me speak at the first anniversary event of @blackexplorermag & I made no mention of my greatest adventure to date!

I have loved the Amazon rainforest since I was a kid even before seeing it. I learnt about the importance of it in my geography lessons & it sounded MAGICAL. I knew I had to visit it & so in 2019 I embarked on a 4 month South American adventure solo & that included me seeing the magical Amazon rainforest. It was a childhood dream come true, just look at me beaming in the heart of the rainforest!

I wish I could say I always champion this. However in this pic even though I am not the size or shape I used to be nor want to be, my body is adorned with a smile and that makes all the difference. And thus I like this pic.

There is no harm in wanting to lose weight/gain weight for your health or to feel better but make sure in it all its crowned with a smile reflecting how you truly feel. It also helps to get workout gear that flatters like these @adidas Techfit long leggings, making me feel good as I work out 😉

So love your body! That’s it. That’s the message.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆!!

Today is Take a Hike Day over in the USA but it would be amiss of me to claim to be a hiker and not adopt & celebrate it too today! I’ve had my daily city walk today (check my stories) rather than a grand old hike. Its the inconvenience of that 9 to 5 😑 and it being hump day that stops me hiking some great place but here is a flashback to earlier in the year. I hiked round Loch Muick in Aberdeenshire as well as hiking up to see the Falls of Glas Allt waterfall near the head of the loch. It was a gorgeous hike, such beauty.

Hiking this loch has given me itchy feet to hike around more lochs as an adventure challenge. Just not sure where to start - but good thing I’ve got peeps in the know like @frankie_dewar & @frit_tam who might give me some pointers.

I LOVE period dramas & thus I love the stately architecture that accompanies them..its all so regal & I just love to gaze at them.

When at the Gone Wild Festival my hiking gal & esteemed speaker @rhianesworld led a hike around the beautiful grounds of Powderham Castle, Exeter & we stumbled on this beauty 😍 Belvedere Tower that overlooks the Exe Estuary.
.

As a result of the walk you can see I’m not entirely dressed in the stately manner of my surroundings but ‘oh well’ 🤷🏾‍♀️ Least I’m wearing one of my joyous colours 🙌🏾 This would be a perfect spot for one of those flowing dresses with me looking up to my tower wistfully (you are welcome for the inspo) Maybe one day I’ll be back doing that 😆

P.s. I’m so looking forward to S2 of @bridgertonnetflix - anyone else?

I tried this out at the @gonewildfestival in Devon. Peep my smile of triumph making it to the top, cos I can tell ya as you hear me pant in the next video it was not easy!!

When trying out a new activity I usually say yes before truly understanding what I’m getting involved in. Would I recommend this method of madness?

YES, it works for me! There are so many things I’d not have tried if I knew the minute details of the activity including this one!

Are you someone that needs to know everything before taking on an activity? Do you think you’d try tree abseiling out?
